Basil Nutley was born in 1921, the youngest of three children born to Edwin Nutley and his second wife Amelia Hanks. His mother died in 1922 aged 40, so Basil was brought up by his father and step-mother, Miriam Bowman.
So far nothing is known of Basil’s early life or regimental service, all that is known is the date of his death and that he was killed in Belgium.
